Due to COVID-19 this will be the first time in 37 years that the states most talented singers, dancers and musicians will not be able to perform live.
Instead Schools Spectacular Remixed will feature a blend of group and solo performances from 2019's event, mixed with some unique solo performances from 2020.
The 2020 solo performances have been filmed by students across NSW at their homes or schools in accordance with COVID-19 safety guidelines, and will be linked together virtually to create an amazing display of students talents.
Secretary of the NSW Department of Education, Mark Scott, said the event was an opportunity to revisit memories of past performances and celebrate the talents of students in NSW public schools.
"Schools Spectacular 2020 Remixed will be an extraordinary broadcast and a unique opportunity to look back at some of the many achievements of our talented performing arts students and their hard working and committed teachers from the past four years," he said.
The Remixed version will feature dancers from the Central West including Nicola Carter from Cowra High, Mia Ryan from Denison College Kelso High Campus and Lily Cole from Denison College Bathurst High Campus, along with a long list of schools from across the state.
For Lily, 2020 would have been her seventh and final year in the Schools Spectacular after performing as a featured dancer for the last five.
Lily said she was excited to be featured one last time before she leaves school and begins the next path on her journey to become a dancer.
"It has been a different year but this gives us a chance to show who we are, where we are from and what we can do," she said.
"For those selected we had to learn some choreography from online and film it, then people behind the scenes will mash it all together, so it will be exciting to see how it looks.
Approximately 30 students get selected each year as featured performers and Lily said the audition process was tough but well worth it if it means she can achieve her dream goal.
"It can be quite competitive but it is a great way to be rewarded for your efforts," she said.
"I started dancing late at 9 years old but I fell in love with and have been dancing non-stop ever since.
"I'm very excited to be attending Ev & Bow dance school full time next year and my dream is to hopefully to go to Europe and travel with a contemporary dance company."
The two hour Schools Spectacular Remixed will air on the Prime7 network at 7:00pm, Saturday December 5.
