The winning run for the Grant kennel started at last Friday's Goulburn Greyhound meeting with Premier Grant and Stormy Grant.
Both greyhounds are members of the Grant's Dyna Double One x Cheeky Grant litter which they bred at their Canowindra kennels.
Both greyhounds recorded impressive victories with Premier Grant running a quick 24.83 and Stormy Grant equally impressive running a slick 24.79.
Their wins followed some recent excellent form, including a feature race second for Premier Grant at Wentworth Park where he picked up $10,000 in prizemoney.
At Goulburn on Friday, Premier Grant ($3.10), which races in David's name, jumped from Box 6 in the Ladbrokes Back Yourself Grade 5 over 400 metres settling alongside Loch Road ($40.20) which drew box 4.
When they straightened for home Premier Grant proved the stronger of the two racing to a two and a quarter length win from Loch Road with Lollabrigida ($22.30) finishing well for third.
Liz Grant finished the day off perfectly for the Canowindra couple when she boxed Stormy Grant ($5.40) for the Labdrokes Multi Grade 5, also over 440 metres.
From box 5 Stormy Grant was clearly the best away, manaouvering a perfect path to cross to the fence and lead throughout for a strong win after looking in danger of being swamped on the turn.
The win took Stormy Grant's record to three wins and a third from 11 starts. Premier Grant has amassed five wins, a second and a third from 11 starts.
The kennel's success continued at Temora on Saturday with hot favourite Sandy Grant ($1.70) racing to an easy win for David.
Another member of the Dyna Double One x Cheeky Grant litter which produced Premier Grant and Stormy Grant, Sandy Grant gave nothing else a chance leading throughout in a fast 26.01 to break her maiden.
The three dogs have amassed $24,660 between them with Premier Grant leading they way, contributing $16,600 to the total.
The Grant kennel's form over the past month continues a good year for the husband and wife team.
Liz has sent just the 11 dogs to the boxes in her maiden season for three winners and one third placing giving her a win strike rate of 27.3 per cent and a place strike rate of 36.4 per cent.
David is striking a winner at a more modest 16.7 per cent after sending 36 starters to the boxes for six winners.
His place strike rate would be the envy of any kennel at 50 per cent when you add in his 11 seconds and one third placing to his six winners.
Another good week for Cowra kennels
It has also been another good week for Cowra kennels with leading conditioner Rod McDonald and Dana Lodge to the fore.
McDonald finished the week with three winners, Dana Ace at Wagga last Friday followed by a double at Temora on Saturday with veteran chaser Dana Gem and Largen In Charge who returned $19 on the tote.
Cowra's other leading kennel, the Pam and Paul Braddon team, returned home with a double from Dubbo last Thursday courtesy of Carla's Magic, which broke her maiden in 18.59, while Flaming Fury took out the top Grade sprint in a blistering near record run of 18.05.
And the in form Richard Griffiths of Woodstock continued his recent hot run with Barefoot Legend making it back to back victories at Goulburn last Friday.
The son of Aston Dee Bee and One Cold Foot covered the 350 metre trip in a quick 19.86.
Griffiths then produced Toasty Toes for another impressive win at the Bathurst meeting on Monday, stopping the clock in a fast 17.68 for the 307 metre journey.
Set To Rule, now trained at Woodstock by Darren Wort, completed a winning double for Woodstock when he took out the final event at the Bathurst meeting.
A son of Fernando Bale and Set to Shine, Set to Rule's win followed two recent second placings at the Bathurst track and took his record to two wins and three minor placings from nine starts.
He was well found by punters, starting a $2.80 favourite.
Local trainers have plenty of entries at meetings over the next couple of days with the Braddons represented by seven runners at Dubbo today and Dana Lodge sending 12 dogs to Young on Saturday.
