Two full hampers were donated by members of Inner Wheel for Cowra families in need.
Major Louise spoke of how she had come out of retirement and, with COVID-19, has had to 'reinvent' everything her Salvation Army team does in welfare for the communities of Cowra and Grenfell.
"Certainly", Major Louise said, "there were COVID-19 restrictions, but there were silver linings also.
"Instead of meeting in a large building, small groups could meet for fellowship and show how they care.
"They can laugh and learn and influence each other for good."
Cowra Inner Wheel member Barbara Hitchins was presented with Honoured Active Membership at the November meeting.
This was in appreciation of Barbara's almost 50 years of membership, friendship and service.
Barbara has been our garden guru providing plants at our annual street stall for very many years.
Barbara was President of our club in 1983-84.
Merrilee Webster, also a Past President and long serving member, presented Barbara with this award.
The Cowra Inner Wheel members will enjoy a Christmas lunch at the Cowra Services club on December 7.
Like Major Louise, they have 'reinvented' their fundraising and changed their meeting place and time.
Now monthly meetings are held at 11am at Cowra Services Club.
