This year's event is viral, with performances to be broadcast on the Opera House's Youtube and Facebook pages from November 11 to November 14 to coincide with NAIDOC Week.
Steve Taylor from Dinawan's Connection said their dances were filmed on Country in October by an Opera House crew and the group welcomed the change to an online format.
"Because there are fellas from different countries, they travel to it, it costs them a lot of money to get there," he said.
"Accommodation and fuel and flights, it takes a toll."
He said women were at the forefront of this year's performance.
"We got my sister involved, older brothers, partners and sisters as well in there dancing," he said.
"Trying to highlight the women for their dancing as well."
The finals will be broadcast on NITV on November 21.
