Alexander Joseph Doolan, 26, of Front Street, Cowra, appeared in front of Cowra Local Court to answer multiple charges, including a never licenced person driving a vehicle, possession of a prohibited drug, stalk/intimidate and two counts of failing to appear at court.
According to the police facts, around 11.30am on September 26, 2020, police were attending a residence in Victor Street when they saw a Hyundai Sedan stop at a house nearby known for the street level supply of cannabis.
Police then stopped the vehicle and Doolan exited through the driver's door while a passenger remained inside the car.
When asked why he went to the address in question, Doolan said he "went there to get some smokes".
Police then asked Doolan if he was aware he had an outstanding warrant, and said he "wasn't sure".
Doolan was also asked to produce a licence, saying he "never had one".
Doolan was placed under arrest and searched but nothing was found on his person.
Doolan's passenger than told police there was a "stick in the door".
A search of the vehicle produced a foil ball containing a small amount of cannabis in the passenger's side door.
The passenger told police Doolan passed the cannabis ball to them and told them to hide it as the police stopped their vehicle.
Doolan's stalk/intimidate charges and subsequent fail to appear matters arose from an incident on September 30, 2019.
Around 4am, Doolan's victim brought him inside their residence after he had been drinking.
A short time later, Doolan was heard yelling at neighbours before making threats towards the victim.
Police were called to the scene and Doolan became aggressive, "shaping up" towards officers and saying "come on, take me".
He then failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Doolan's solicitor, Mr Gration said his client plead guilty to all of the charges and noted a large gap in his history of offending.
"A very small amount of cannabis," he said.
"I note the nature of the offences... no similar matter since 2012.
"Not the worst record the court sees for a 26-year-old man."
Magistrate Michael O'Brien issued Doolan a Community Corrections Order for 12 months, $100 fines for the never licenced person drive a vehicle and the two counts of failing to appear at court.
Doolan also received a Section 10a charge for the drug possession.
