The fencing, which will be situated around the park's playground, was an objective identified in council's Disability Action Plan.
Council was then successful in acquiring $5,000 in funding through the Every One Can Play Funding through the NSW Government Department of Planning.
Councillor Bruce Miller said he was happy to see the project get off the ground.
"I'm just happy to move this and get this moving, to be honest," he said.
"After further investigation, it's appropriate we actually find the extra few bucks to improve what I think will be a good project."
Cr Peter Wright believed it would give parents peace of mind, in particular those who have children with disabilities.
"It's going to provide a secure play area for people with children," he said.
Cr Bill West said he hoped more grant funding could be found to assist with the project.
In reply, General Manager Paul Devery said there was potential for leftover funds from other projects.
"There is a potential we may make some savings in one or two of the Stronger Country Communities funded projects and it would be a fairly seamless transition if we were able to divert that funding to this project," Mr Devery said.
