On Thursday, July 9, a smaller scale ceremony was held in the Acacia courtyard, with Jared Burns and Bobby Jeffries sharing their culture with the residents through song and dance.
Jan Harper from Weeroona said the residents enjoyed the performance.
"Although official celebrations will take place in November, Dinawan's Connection came and gave us an insight into what their performance will be," she said.
"Jared's grandfather Frank Burns watched on with enormous pride from his veranda.
"It was a beautiful morning in the sun seeing, hearing and learning the First Nation's 65,000 plus year history of this country, which is Australian history."
The theme for this year's NAIDOC Week celebrations is "Always Was, Always Will Be".
