With the easing of domestic travel restrictions on June 1, Cowra Tourism is focusing on getting the local economy back on track by encouraging locals to invite their friends and family home to Cowra.
"We've been working with our local community ambassadors to shine a light on what makes our region so great," Cowra Tourism Events & Marketing Officer Kurt Overzet said.
"It's the little things that make a huge difference, wide-open spaces, the smell of fresh cooked Cowra Lamb, and the peaceful setting of the sun over our amazing landscape; it's the things we share with family and friends that make us feel at home.
"That's really what the 'Welcome Home' campaign is all about; it's about sharing the things we love with the people we love."
The campaign is being launched on Cowra Tourism's 'We Are Cowra' Facebook page.
A platform that aims to foster community pride, promote local business and encourage locals to share their love for the Cowra region with their family and friends.
The 'Welcome Home' campaign will go hand-in-hand with Central NSW Tourism's 'We Want You Back' tourism recovery campaign, a collaboration between the Orange, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Bathurst, Oberon, Lithgow, Forbes, Lachlan, Weddin and Parkes local government areas.
"We are excited to launch the dual 'Welcome Home' and 'We Want You Back' marketing campaigns over the coming weeks," Cowra Tourism Manager, Belinda Virgo said.
"We have been working behind the scenes during the travel restrictions to ensure we were ready to deliver our marketing when the restrictions were eased. We are on track to launch our campaigns in line with the travel restrictions being eased on June 1.
"I am pleased to confirm that the Cowra Visitor Information Centre will reopen for face to face customer service next week to welcome visitors to the region, with appropriate social distancing measures in place of course."
Cowra Tourism encourages all locals, as well as their friends and relatives to like the 'We Are Cowra' Facebook page, as well as share what they love about the Cowra region using @WeAreCowra and #WeAreCowra.
