"We Are Cowra" is a social media initiative designed to foster local advocacy through highlighting the beauty, rich history, incredible experiences, and community spirit of the region, then encouraging locals to share these aspects with their friends and relatives.
"Our locals are the most important advocates for tourism in our region," Cowra Tourism Events and Marketing Officer, Kurt Overzet said.
"What we aim to achieve with 'We Are Cowra' is to share all the amazing things about our region with the community, there are so many strengths, so many incredible stories, experiences, and people that deserve recognition. We want the community to invite their friends and family home to share all these incredible things with them.
"Domestic tourism is vital to Cowra's economy, the amount of Cowra businesses that rely on visitors is immense. I strongly believe that if the community gets involved and supports our initiative that we can certainly help to soften the blow that COVID-19 has had on our local businesses and the wider community."
