More than 45,000 children in Australia can't live with their parents due to severe abuse and neglect.
These children desperately need what most of us take for granted every day - a safe place to call home.
Whether it be one weekend a month, a year or a lifetime, you have the power to change a child's life by becoming a Barnardos foster carer.
In order to address this need, Barnardos are holding an Information Session to provide people with information about what is involved in becoming a foster carer.
This session will be held from 11am - 1pm at 77 Darling Street, Cowra (next door to the library) on Tuesday, March 24.
The information session will cover the different types of carers that Barnardos are looking for.
You will be provided with information about-
- Short Term Foster care
- Respite care
- Permanent Care and Adoption
- Our Aboriginal Care program - Yuranha Walan
Barnardos will provide an in-depth presentation about these different types of care and what is involved in becoming a carer.
You will have the opportunity to talk to Barnardos staff and ask any questions that you may have.
If you are interested please RSVP to Nina Casey on 6393 6000 or email centralwestern@barnardos.org.au.
If you can't make it to this session please feel free to call our friendly team for a chat on 1800 663 441.
