Operations Manager, Riverina Slopes, Shawn Eade, said due to the scale and complexity of the maintenance a number of crews are necessary to complete the project.
"Significant planning has been undertaken to minimise the impact of this project on our customers, including bringing in additional crews from other regional depots including Orange and Bathurst," he said.
"The crews will assist local teams to complete the work in the shortest timeframe.
"By combining these additional resources and completing extensive preparation work we are confident a single power out will be sufficient."
Affected customers will and have been receiving a formal notification confirming the date and duration of power outages to enable them to make alternative arrangements.
Essential Energy says they encourage customers to have a contingency plan for when power supplies are impacted, either for planned work or in the event of faults and emergencies if necessary.

Customers that rely on a continuous supply of power to operate medical equipment are encouraged to make alternative arrangements for the duration of the outage for their own safety and wellbeing.
Mr Eade said he wanted to thank the community ahead of the planned outage.
"We thank the Cowra community for its patience while we undertake this vital work on the local electricity network," he said.
