Bonnie, who has recently completed her studies at Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga, donated $500 to the Auxiliary after receiving the Lila Kirilik Social Action Prize.
The prize "rewards the student's application of the principles of social justice, equity, empowerment and self determination in their practice and provides them the opportunity to donate matched funding to an appropriately auspiced social justice project of their choice", the university says.
Pat Smith from the Cowra Hospital Auxiliary said they were very grateful for the donation.
"Cowra Hospital Auxiliary thanks Bonnie for supporting the Cowra community with her donation to help purchase medical equipment for theatre," she said.
"Cowra is very lucky to have our young ones giving back to their town. Congratulations to Bonnie on her achievements and we wish her all the best for her future.
"The equipment that Bonnie is helping us purchase can save a life tomorrow."
The Cowra Hospital Auxiliary are hoping to make a donation for the purchase of two laparoscopic telescopes for the operating theatre.
The telescopes are used for keyhole surgery, which is considered minimally invasive and results in a smaller post-operative recovery time.
