The continuing dry weather and lack of watering available, the fairways have had limited grass growth and the firm ground has seen players hit the ball much longer, and reducing strokes played.
On the other hand the Greens have been beautifully maintained but some pin placements on sloping greens have set challenges to make the putts.
The writer of this report witnessed, John Murphy play a truly sensational round to produce 26 Stableford points for the nine holes.
Playing off the 18 hole handicap of 19, he parred 8 of the 9 holes.
It was truly a great performance. The next best result was achieved by Gary Dick with 21 points.
