The prize was Peppa the Rocking Horse, beautifully restored and donated by Nan.
Peppa is an original Roebuck rocking horse made in the early 1960's in Leichardht, Sydney.
All Roebuck rocking horses were hand-dappled in 'Rocking Horse Grey' so each one was unique.
Peppa has a cowhair mane and tail, a leather saddle, a Stuart tartan saddlecloth, leather reins and stirrup leathers, all typical of original Roebuck rocking horses.
Many families (like Nan Duncan's) have passed on their rocking horses from one generation to the next.
The winning ticket was held by Mr Neil "Cinderella" Carlton of Greenethorpe.
The raffle raised $2,290 for CWA Drought Relief. Steel, Walsh & Murphy very kindly allowed Cowra Evening CWA to display the rocking horse in the vacant shop next to Relish for many months and Chrissy Hamer of Relish, along with CWA members have been busy selling tickets.
