NSW Ambulance acting Deputy Director of Clinical Operations Western Sector, Brad Porter said it was another exciting day in the Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration (RAIR) program.
"Cowra is the 18th station with construction complete, so we're very excited and it's the fourth station in the Central West.
"What happens now is we take six to eight weeks to commission the building with ICT and other equipment so paramedics can walk in on day one when the station goes live and commence operations.
"The crews will start one day at the old station and then move straight to this new station which will be fully functional and operating," he said.
Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, said the building was now one step closer to being up and running.
"This is amazing under this program we have 24 new stations and six of them are in the Cootamundra electorate, so I'm jolly proud of that," she said.
"I'm so happy, you are going to have the most incredible facility here to work from. It's huge, in fact it's the largest one because both Grenfell and Cootamundra won't be this big.
"To the guys that have done so well managing this project and Hines Constructions, well done, full credit to you," she said.
Ms Cooke the importance of paramedics to rural communities could not be understated.
"This will be a fantastic asset to Cowra and to know when people need ambulance attendance quickly they will be able to have it, is fantastic," she said
"A state of the art facility that has everything at its fingertips and some creature comforts for while they're on the job as well.
"Because paramedics are so incredibly important to our communities, it's wonderful we are able to support you in this," she said.
Cowra Mayor Bill West said congratulated Health Infrastructure, NSW Ambulance and Hines Constructions on their co-operation in completing the building.
"When this was first planned for Cowra there was no lobbying, no arguing, we were visited at Council and told they were going to build a new ambulance station and from then on it's been seamless," he said.
"Quite often there is a hassle and we have issues but this has been so easy. The end result is brilliant and really a credit to all involved.
"It's really lovely to think we have Health Infrastructure and NSW Ambulance working together to get this built and people of the calibre of Hines regionally based doing the constructing," he said.
Mr West described the completion of the building and its eventual official open as a "win, win, win".
"From a paramedic's perspective, you have a new home and it's going to be something you will enjoy working out of and from a community perspective, people are reassured that they have a service available to them," he said.
"A service that I know will be provided in the highly professional manner it has been in the past and I think there is an increase in numbers coming to Cowra so that in itself is exciting.
"This is a tremendous achievement and I acknowledge that from the Cowra community who are delighted and looking forward to the official ribbon cutting early next year," he said.

Managing Director of Hines Constructions, David Hines, said the company was pleased to have been able to complete the building.
"It's wonderful the government puts money into regional areas like Cowra, Bathurst and Grenfell," he said.
"We've had some challenges but it's a great building for Cowra, I never underestimate the value of a building and service like this to a country area and what it means to the community. So I'm pleased for you Bill."
