The money was part of $10,000 raised from the annual Memorial Challenge on October 12.
Organiser Danny Millar said this year's challenge had been another great day.
"It was busy and a very long day," he said.
"But it was a good day and we were pleased to have all the teams come along. The support of the day is always outstanding."
Bruce Walker, NSW State Manager of the Men of League Foundation said the Memorial Challenge was a fantastic event.
"They do an awesome job and have done so for the last four years," he said.
"The effort they put in and the funds raised are very much appreciated."
Mr Millar thanked the day's sponsors: Cowra Council, Cowra Magpies senior and junior rugby league, Imperial Hotel, Bernie Finlay and Jayden Gunn.
Mr Millar also thanked the teams that participated, the referees who donated their time and those who volunteered their time and supported the day.
There will now be an AGM held to organise a new committee for the 2020 Memorial Challenge. The AGM will be held on November 28 from 6.30pm at the Cowra Services Club.
