Canowindra and Cowra's women players continue to be integral in the Woodbridge WWRL side's push for finals as they triumphed 42-4 against the Castlereagh Cougars, the first time they've beaten the opposition in three seasons of competition.

The victory took the Woodbridge open grade side to three wins and one loss for the season, and one step closer to sealing a finals berth, with Castlereagh incapable of firing a shot during the first half.
Played in damp conditions at Tom Clyburn Oval, the Woodbridge side were quick out of the blocks early, as number six and Canowindra league tag captain-coach Alicia Earsman put the first try on the board after breaking the lines down the left wing.
While they missed the conversion, from there things didn't get any easier for the visitors, with back to back tries from Nickolle Kirby followed by scores to Caitlin Dixon, Sarah Archer and Sarah Kirkness.

Number three Jess Burling eventually found her kicking boots as well, slotting four from six for the half.
With the match effectively done and dusted at the end of the first half-hour, one wouldn't have blamed the Cougars if they threw in the towel, or Woodbridge for slackening off the precision and focus that characterised the first-half rout.
However, while Woodbridge were a little error prone, conceding their share of knock-ons and giving the ball back a little too easily, it was Castlereagh who dominated territory after the break, earning repeated offensive sets within 20 metres of the try line.
It took them 47 minutes to register their first score, but nevertheless, there was a strong sense of relief when the Cougars got over the line for their first, even if the conversion kick was unsuccessful.
However, perhaps it was disappointment from being unable to keep a clean sheet, but the Woodbridge response was rapid, with Sarah Archer putting a huge 70 metre run to put the ball under the post, while Nikita Campbell added another score to make the final margin 38 points, the hosts ultimately far too good for Castlereagh.
With healthy enough numbers at the ground in spite of the rain, the day was nearly an unequivocal success for Woodbridge: The under 18s won 68-16, while the under 15s, last season's reigning premiers, were even more dominant, winning 66-0.
Only the under 13s were unable to complete a quinella, losing 28-34.
Woodbridge will head over to Orange to take on the Vipers this Sunday.
