Our Vice President Diane Walsh introduced Lyn, Fly Oz's Chief flying Officer, as' putting Cowra at the centre of the aviation map.'
The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) 2018 Wings Award for Flying Instructor of the Year was awarded to Lyn Gray on September 27, 2018 "If an award like this brings more people in then it's gradually going to have a flow on effect," Lyn is quoted as saying in the Cowra Guardian at the time.
Lyn employs nine full time flight instructors (hoping to increase to 15) who teach student pilots, qualified pilots and instructors wanting to upgrade their skills.
Lyn welcomes local groups to visit her ... and has donated a free flight as a raffle
- Sue Brown
These are visitors from other Australian states and even overseas. Lyn told us that people tend to stay in Cowra for however long their qualification takes, and this has a flow-on effect for our country town.
While they are here, they are part of the town, attending local events, dining in local restaurants, shopping.
'In times of drought everyone suffers', so Lyn's aviation business is certainly an asset to our town, employing skilled instructors and non-teaching staff.
Lyn loves what she does, with a background of teaching a big class of children, Lyn can now teach adults one to one and be part of our town. Lyn welcomes local groups to visit her at Cowra Airport and has donated a free flight to our Cowra club as a raffle. This is First prize in a raffle to be drawn on December 9.
It is a great Christmas gift for up to three passengers on one flight Contact Cowra Inner Wheel Club by emailing to iiw.au.cowra@gmail.com or phone 0458 566 054.
