The 2018 Cowra Show was hailed as an outstanding success, attracting huge numbers across the weekend. After last year's event, former Cowra Show Society President, Anne Jeffery, said that everyone in town was talking about the show and the committee had already begun thinking about how to make it bigger and better in 2019. Twelve months later, and the Cowra Show is ready to entertain the enthusiastic crowd and provide non-stop action and entertainment again.

Like most country shows, the Cowra Show has constantly looked at different events and entertainment to appeal to everyone, young and old, while still keep the long serving traditions of agricultural shows alive. This year the Show will feature and exciting new area called 'The Gully' where action packed events will be held.
The Young Farmers Challenge allows teams to compete in a series of agricultural tasks with the quickest and safest teams to complete the challenges declared the winners and will be eligible to compete at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2020.
For those looking for a but more pace, the high octane Demolition Derby will take place on Saturday night while Lawn Mower Racing is sure to get the crowd buzzing. After six rounds of hotly contest racing, the Cowra Show will host the final and has $2000 in prize money up for grabs, along with naming the 2019 Champion.

For the adrenaline junkies, the mobile climbing wall will offer visitors a chance to challenge themselves, while the live pro wrestling will allow everyone to witness some fierce battles throughout the day. Admission is free and the wrestlers will be available for autograph and photo sessions.
Animal lovers will of course be taken care of with the usual competitions and display of poultry, cattle, horses, sheep and there will also be an exciting reptile show including turtles, lizards, snakes and crocodiles.
If that doesn't get you blood pumping, Friday afternoon will offer the crowd plenty of thrills and spills and the 2019 Rodeo again. Events include Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Saddle Broncs and Steer Riding, and given last year none of the Open Bulls were ridden, this year has a lot of cowboys seeking redemption.
The weekend will be wrapped up with the spectacular fireworks show which will be held at 8pm Saturday night, so make sure you stick around to witness the amazing display. Despite the drought, the committee are expecting some great entries across the board and some big crowd numbers. The 140th Cowra Show will take place on Friday, October 18 and Saturday October 19.
