Every day 42 Australian women learn they have breast cancer and seven will lose their lives to the disease.

Local organiser, Jenny Friend from the Cowra Breast Cancer Support Group says it's important to recognise the impact of breast cancer on not only the woman diagnosed but all those around her.

"Each time a woman hears she has breast cancer, those around her in the community are also affected," she said.

"Support for women diagnosed, as well as their families and loved ones is an important issue in our local community."

Breast Cancer Network Australia's (BCNA) Mini-Field of Women events provide an opportunity for the public come together to pay tribute to all those affected by breast cancer.

BCNA CEO Christine Nolan said the event is a powerful way to remind those diagnosed that they are not alone in their breast cancer journey.

"This year over 300 Mini-Field of Women events are being held in local communities' right across Australia," she said.

"These events are a great way to link those people affected by breast cancer with their local community to help them feel supported.

"We hope people participating will find the event moving and enjoy it as a celebration of life."

Womens Health Nurse from Cowra Community Health and BCNA member Jen Shady encourages the Cowra community to participate in the event to show support for the thousands of Australian women and families affected by this disease.

"Although breast cancer care and knowledge has come a long way, women are still being diagnosed every single day who need our support," she said.

"We invite the whole community to join us, and to take the opportunity to leave a personal message of support on a Pink Lady silhouette."

The Cowra tribute and mini-field of women will be held at Squire Park, Cowra on Friday, October 25 at 10am.
