The Cowra Masonic Lodge, with the help of Bunnings Cowra, have donated $5000 towards the Cowra Community Chest. Master of the Lodge, Geoff Baker said Masons enjoy helping out community groups.
"We've helped out a number of organisations over the years and it was decided this time we would do something for the Community Chest as we've done for other organisations in Cowra," he said.
In the last 18 months we would have donated $17,000 to charities in Cowra, it's part of the things we do and we like to help the community."
Cowra Community Chest Chairperson, Ian Brown, said the money will provide financial assistance for locals who have expenses due to illness.
"It's a magnificent donation from the Masons, they're a volunteer group like we are that have worked very hard selling about 2000 sausages... for the benefit of the community and I think that's wonderful," Mr Brown said.

"As far as Community Chest goes, we are delighted to receive this, we spend money all the time and we need more money and we need to help people and we are very busy doing that.
He also thanked Bunnings for their support.
"And to Bunnings, they need a big clap... They also donate $50 every time to the cause."
