The Cowra Campdraft will return this long weekend at the Cowra Showgrounds, with plenty of competitive cattle-working taking place from 10am this morning.

Saturday will feature the headline event, the Cec Peterson Memorial Open, which will feature a raft of local horsemen and women competing for the prestigious honour.

Familiies will come from far and wide to attend, with many looking for a break and some time away from the difficulties of another drought-stricken year.

With action starting as daylight breaks on Saturday and Sunday, there will be plenty to keep people occupied, with canteen and bar facilities available throughout the weekend.

Local musician Josie Laver will also perform on Saturday evening.

The organisers wish to thank all the sponsors and cattle donors who have supported this year's event, stressing that the Campdraft wouldn't be possible without their support.

Entry is free, with all welcome to attend the event.
