With more than 90 entries over the four sections coming from within 100kms of Cowra, there will be a wide variety of art works to view.
The Judge for this year's Awards is contemporary artist Jenny Beach from Borenore who has wide experience in artistic endeavour, and who also manages an independent gallery at Millthorpe. Jenny will be present to announce the winners on opening night.
The Major Award is the Barbara Bennett Memorial Award for the outstanding work in the exhibition. The late Barbara Bennett was a long-time supporter of Art Group exhibitions with her Raintree Award, and the Group is privileged to have this Memorial Award presented by the Bennett family in her honour.
The Art Group is also pleased to acknowledge the assistance of the Cowra Shire Council and Cr. Bill West, Mayor of Cowra Shire Council, who will open the Exhibition, and Director Brian Langer, staff and volunteers from the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.
The Cowra Art Group also appreciates the sponsorship from local businesses - Steel Walsh and Murphy, The Cowra Services Club, Waugoola Motors, Websters Optometrists, Beechers Wool, and the Cowra Bowling and Recreation Club.
There will be a special People's Choice Award sponsored by Cowra Art Group Patron Christine Delaney - the winner to be determined by counting of the votes at the conclusion of the exhibition on October 13.
A Raffle will be conducted to be drawn on the night. Entry to the exhibition is free and there will be refreshments available following the opening.
All are welcome to attend.
