The 2970m race, which features a prize pool of $10,200, will be the headline event at the Cowra Showgrounds, as part of a meet scheduled by Harness Racing NSW as an acknowledgement of the club's milestone.
Ned Pepper, the Katie Jenner-trained, Angela Hedges-driven eight-year-old, has had mixed recent results, finishing eighth at Menangle but has also had two seconds at Riverina and Young.
It also finished fifth in the Hilltops Equine Centre race, held last week in Young, albeit from a difficult lane draw (First in on the second row), but with the distance of the Centenary Cup the same as the Cowra Cup, pacing enthusiasts would fancy the horse's chances on a course it has good form at.
Other notable horses include Fouroeight, which has bounced back from a disappointing Cowra Cup to earn solid results at Menangle and back to back wins at Bathurst and Young in its most recent races.
Meanwhile, trainer-driver Amanda Turnbull's Convair Hustler will arrive on Sunday in strong form, having placed in Menangle after winning in Young last month.
The remainder of the eight race program consists of events that each contain a prize pool of just over $7,100, with several locals getting an opportunity to take part in the day's racing, including Cowra Harness Racing president Darryl Davis, whose Dot Ayou will feature in the 2160m Cowra Bowling Club/CHRC Administrators Pace.
Racing on Sunday will start from 12.44pm, with the 1700m TAB Odds & Evens/Ladies Auxiliary Pace.
