Graham Eddy will be the new Cowra Show Society secretary, taking over from Christie Anderson, who was in the role for the past five years.
Mr Eddy said he believes the role suits him due to his experience in a number of fields.
"I work mornings at St Raphael's doing literacy and numeracy and working with the inclusive kids in the high school, and that finishes at 1pm and I've been looking around for something that would be able to benefit my background," he said.
"Even though I've got an education background, I've also taught accounting, administration, marketing, law and management."
He said he was excited to take on the position.
"As normal with any new job, a little bit of excitement, but I'll find my way around because I've worked with community organisations before," Mr Eddy said.
"To just work with everyone to make the show bigger and better."
Ms Anderson said she had a wonderful time in her tenure as secretary.
"I have had the pleasure of helping to bring you many of the feature events on Cowra's social calendar, five Showgirl Cocktail Parties, five Spring Shows, five Wine Shows, five NSW Dorset Championships, one Showgirl Zone Final and countless third party functions held in our beautiful pavilion," she said.
"No day has ever been the same, no day has ever been boring, in fact some days could only be described as downright strange. Some days were completely frustrating, but every day has been immensely rewarding.
"The volunteers that make the Show Society tick are some of the most beautiful humans on the planet and I consider it my privilege to have met and worked side by side with each and every one of you."
Along with a new secretary, Mr Eddy was also excited to announce a change to the operation of the office.

"We will now actually be opening the office over here 2pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday," he said.
"That will be permanently from Thursday (August 29)... not including public holidays."
Mr Eddy said it will be a change from earlier involvement he had in the Cowra Show.
"When we were younger, I used to enter in the cooking, we used to breed birds so we had often had champions at the show," he said.
"We've been around for a while, we were always here, they were the years when the whole ground was just full of agricultural equipment and things of that nature, but things have changed a little bit now so we will wait and see."
