Men's Seniors
It was a case of groundhog day for the Eagles' senior side as they came up against a Waratah United side that fought their way towards to a gritty 1-1 draw in spite of Cowra's field dominance at Waratah Sportsground.
While Cowra controlled much of the match, the United side scored first, with a corner kick creating a struggle that brought the visiting team's defence undone.
Nevertheless, the Eagles kept pushing on, with a numerous strikes at goal falling well off-target, though a Bevan Foxall shot did come close, hitting the crossbar.
The Eagles, who had five players yellow carded or sin-binned throughout the day, eventually got reward for their effort though, with Shaun Mortyne taking control of a through-ball to successfully ensure it passed the keeper, the team earning some valuable points to keep their finals hopes alive.
Foxall and Emerson Baratto were named the best for the team.
The fifth placed Eagles will host the Waratah FC at Edgell Park this Saturday from 3.15pm before playing a make-up game this weekend against the Barnstoneworth Saints on Sunday afternoon from 1pm.
Men's Reserves
It was a tough weekend for the Reserves, with only 11 taking to the field against the Barnstoneworth United Over 35's, but nevertheless, the side held on to a 0-0 draw.
While the Eagles and United teams both had opportunities throughout the match to take the game by the scruff of the neck, given the circumstances the Eagles were pleased with the character of their group, with any points crucial as teams head towards the finals.
The sixth-placed Eagles will be at home this week, hosting the Waratah Mariners on Saturday afternoon, with kick-off from 1.30pm.
Women's Seniors
The women's Eagles team had the bye this weekend, and will be looking forward to finishing the season on the best note possible, as they take on Eglinton DFC at Edgell Park this Sunday afternoon from 3pm.
