About 60 residents of the Lachlan Valley heard about plans for water security from the NSW Minister, Melinda Pavey, at a function in Cowra last week.

The Cowra branch of the Nationals hosted the Minister and Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke at a dinner at the Golf Club.
The Minister said she was delighted to be in Cowra and was keen to hear from farmers, irrigators and business people about the NSW Government's project to raise the Wyangala Dam wall.

She said everything was on track to spend the $659 million allocated by the government.
The business case for the project had been very positive and plans were being drawn up.
Attendees questioned the Minister about the project and raised concerns about possible inundation water levels.
Minister Pavey said the raising of the wall would provide water security for the whole Lachlan Valley into the future.
She said it was one of the Government's major initiatives and she was determined to see it done in the next two years.
