Part of a five man team captained by Jaimon Lidsey and also including Kye Thompson and Jordan Stewart, the team will competed in the final after finishing second in the semis behind Denmark, beating out Sweden and Finland to secure a finals spot, which will feature four national representative teams.
With the race set to take place at the Mancunian Belle Vue Aces club race track, it will be a venue that holds familiarity for Australians Lidsey and team manager Mark Lemon, both of whom are part of the Belle Vue Aces race team based at the track.
Lidsey, who scored 17 of the team's 40 points in their semi-final heat, will lead Cowra's Cook and Gilmore, as well as the other riders, into a final that includes the aforementioned Danish team as well as Poland and the United Kingdom.
Poland will start the event as favourites, having won the last five FIM Team Under 21 Speedway titles.
The last time Australia appeared on the medal podium was in 2017, where it claimed second place in Rybnik, Poland.
Competition for Friday's meet will begin at 7pm, Manchester time, (4am Saturday morning, AEST time).
