An ongoing focus on junior golf will be a big part of Tom Perfect's time at the Cowra pro shop, according to the new club's golfing professional, who is taking over from Andrew Booth.

Perfect, who grew up and played most of his junior golf in Bathurst, is also the Central West's development manager for Jack Newton Junior Golf and comes to Cowra after a six year stint and PGA Traineeship at the Bathurst pro shop, followed by 18 months at Duntryleague in Orange.

He said he was keen to connect Cowra with some of the Jack Newton Junior Golf initiatives like Juniors on the Move and the NSW Country Championships, which are held in Bathurst in November, while also continuing some of the events already happening at the club.

"Hopefully we get more and more initiatives up and going in the next six to 12 months," Perfect said, noting he was keen to make contact with schools as part of his engagement with the broader area.
