The Cowra Regional Art Gallery provided the perfect setting for students and teachers alike when Operation Art was held early last week.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday last week, school students between kindergarten and Year 10 from Cowra Public, Mulyan Public, Binalong Public, Cudal Public and Young Public School took part in the annual program.
Students were guided under the direction of artist Trevor McDonald, who helped the kids to paint landscapes and little monsters.
One of the students who took part in the workshop, Kelisha Matheison, says she hopes to follow in the footsteps of her grandfather, renowned Aboriginal artist Harry Wedge, who was born on Erambie Mission outside of Cowra.
"He was a famous artist, he was on TV," she said.
