Cowra's Zach Cook and Matt Gilmore have been selected by Motorcycling Australia to compete in the 2019 FIM Team Speedway U21 World Championship Semi-Final 2 at Vetlanda, Sweden on Saturday 29 June 2019.

The winner of the meeting goes direct to the Final to be held at Manchester, England on Saturday 12 July 2019 while the highest second placed team from the two Semi Finals will also advance to the Final in Manchester.
In Semi-Final 2, Australia will be competing against Sweden, Denmark and Slovakia.
Poland has dominated by winning 11 times... Australia [was] runner-up in 2012, 2016 and 2017.
The Australian Team line-up consists of: Jaimon Lidesy (Vic), Jordan Stewart (Vic), Cook (NSW), Kye Thompson (Qld) and Gilmore (NSW).
Since the inception of the Under 21 World Championships in 2005, Poland has dominated by winning 11 times, only having been defeated by Denmark (2010 & 2013) and Russia (2011), with Australia Runner-Up in 2012, 2016 & 2017.
Matt already has a couple of meetings under his belt having competed in the Qualifier for the Under 21 Individual Championships on May 28, 2019 held in Stralsund, Germany where he was placed 12th.
He has also had rides in the Polish Junior Development meetings at various tracks in Poland.
After only arriving in the UK on Tuesday 12 June 2019 Zach was invited to ride for the British League team, Somerset alongside fellow Aussie and Cowra boy Todd Kurtz in a Challenge meeting on Wednesday 13 June 2019 against the Plymouth Devils where Zach scored a respectable nine points.
Zach is the current NSW U21 Speedway Champion and is looking forward to competing in the U21 World Championships to gain further valuable experience on the international stage.
