How about the role of Local Land Services (LLS) and the Department of Primary Industries (DPI)?
Are you concerned about stock theft?
The Cowra Business Chamber are bringing back their free AgriZone networking event to answer those questions and more.
Cowra Business Chamber President, Jordan Core, said the success and feedback from the first AgriZone event, which focused on the role of emerging technology in agriculture, inspired the team to bring it back for farmers.
"Last time we focused more on technology on the farm, this one is about the associated services and what is available for our farmers," Mr Core said.
"Last time there was a focus on things like drone technology and sheep counting apps in response to rural theft and security.
"It's just a good mix of what's going on around the area and what advice and assistance is available to our farmers."
Speakers on the night will include:
- Kate McCarthy, LLS Central West
- Catriona McAuliffe, NSW Farmers Association
- Ted O'Kane, DPI Rural Resilience Officer
- Detective Senior Constable's Newman and Beckett, Rural Crime Investigators from Chifley and Central West Districts
- Officer in Charge Adam Beard, Chifley Local Area Command
- Stephanie Hendriks, Founder of FarmFetched, Currently in the DPI's GATE Program
"A lot of people were unsure of what some associated services actually do, this is more of a presentation on each of these different government departments, and how they can help and assist our farmers," Mr Core said.
"Kate's (McCarthy, LLS) going to be talking about the smaller, smarter farms program, which is something she's promoting here in town to embrace the farmers that are coming out from urban areas.
"It should be a good chance to meet everyone and find out what's out there."
AgriZone "Meet the Team" will be held on June 20 at 6.30pm at the Lachlan Valley Hotel.
The event is free however those interested in attending are asked to visit the Business Chamber's website at www.cowrabusinesschamber.com.au and clicking on the events tab to register.
