This year's memorial, a 453m event, will be one of 10 races taking place down at Sid Kallas Oval.
The series final pits together greyhounds who have won up to four races in their careers, and is the biggest race on the Cowra Greyhound Racing Club's calendar with $4,000 going the way of connections to the series winner.
The feature race, now in its 11th year, remains an elusive one for grandsons of John McDonald, trainers Wesley McDonald and Rodney McDonald, who support the race each and every year.
The McDonald brothers have both qualified a number of runners in finals over the years but are yet to secure the title.
This year Wesley prepares the highly fancied Fusion Kiss, while Rodney has the two runners in Dana Queen and litter brother Largen In Charge.
In what appears to be a very even final field both brothers would be heading into the race full of confidence hoping to secure their maiden race victory.
Fastest qualifier for the final was the John Chapman trained Nangar Hawke and the other heat winners were the Alita Funnell-trained Dusty Brothers and the aforementioned Fusion Kiss with all trainers eagerly awaiting the all important box draw.
To celebrate a great day's racing, the Cowra Greyhound Club will throw open the gates for Monday's meeting, offering free entry plus full bar and canteen facilities. The club encourages young & old to attend, with the whole family welcome to come along and enjoy a great day of racing.
Dusty Hooroo wins at Bathurst
Wesley McDonald had a win earlier in the week at Monday's June 3 Bathurst meet, taking out the 450 metre Ladbrokes Multimaker Stakes by four lengths in an easy victory.
Gregory McAlister's Alabana ran in second, while Durama Delight, trained by Amanda Ginn, came in third place.
Only narrowly ahead of the other dogs at the first time point, the raced opened up dramatically, with less than a twentieth of a second separating the second to fourth placed dogs.
McDonald took home $950 for his win, while Alabana collected $320 and Durama Delight got $220 for their placings.
Meanwhile, Rodney McDonald also came home with a winner on Monday in Nowra, picking up $900 with a win for Dana Ali in the 365m GRNSW Masters Stakes, beating out Ruth Matic's Little Jebrynah in another strong result for Dana Lodge after Getalong Dana's win at Wagga late last month.
