Cowra Council has called for more investigation into the Low Level Bridge Preliminary Design Report and Traffic Study.

Councillors agreed to look further into modelling, designs and estimates of three different options for the bridge after receiving the Option Testing Report.

Councillor Bruce Miller said this was "just part of the process".

"We need to continue on with this, lots of options at the moment but we need some more information," Cr Miller said.

Councillor Ray Walsh added an amendment that council also consider the already identified section of the heavy vehicle bypass linking Lachlan Valley Way and Olympic Highway.

"This is part of the process we need to go through so that we explore all possibilities because when this happens, we really must get it right," Cr Walsh said.

"I just thought this is another way we should explore just to satisfy in our own minds that we looked at all of the possibilities."
