Several young Cowra AFL players have taken part in the NSW Primary School Sports Association's (NSWPSSA) Australian Rule competitions, representing the Western Region this week.
Mason Bright, Jett Cummings, Aaron Hall and Cameron Murray were selected, competing against representative teams from the Hunter Valley, South Coast, Sydney's West and the Polding team.
Mason also earned the distinction of captaining his team during the carnival.
While the team struggled to deal with some of the stronger school regions during the tournament, with big losses coming against the Polding, South Coast and Western Sydney teams, there were encouraging signs in the team's narrow defeat against Hunter.
The competition wrapped up yesterday, with the Western Region side playing off against Barrier in their final game to sort out placings, while CIS won the Grand Final match against Mackillop.
