The Magpies have rebounded from a slow start to the year - albeit they were 1-2 after three games in 2018 as well - with some solid form over the past three weeks, making light work of the Lithgow Workies (40-0), Blayney Bears (50-8) and most impressively, Bathurst St. Pats (44-14) to be back mid-table after losing both opening games.
Most importantly for the Magpies, those wins have come off the back of an early absentee toll - with Josh Rainbow's surprise retirement, and injuries to the likes of Blake Tidswell and Jeremy Gordon.
It has meant that the Magpies have been able to get games into their younger and emerging players, with the likes of Zach Browne getting more time on-field and making the most of it, scoring multiple tries in last week's Saints win.
Caley Mok is another who has benefited, working his way into solid form on the wing after starting his season on the bench against Orange Hawks earlier in the year, while maintaining strong accuracy in front of goal.
Cult hero Warren Williams has also showcased his blistering pace on more than one occasion, while Braydn Cassidy has also started the year in strong form.

New recruits Matt Naden, Claude Gordon and Lewis Dwyer are all well and truly settled in the new jumper.
While Orange CYMS (2-3) are one game behind Cowra, the Magpies, who fancy themselves a challenger for this year's premiership, can ill-afford to lose what shapes as a winnable fixture for the team, which is now playing a strong brand of footy.
