A 38-year-old Cowra man has been given six 12-month supervised community corrections orders at Cowra Local Court on Wednesday, May 8.

Demetrius John Kollas of Fitzroy Avenue was before the court charged with common assault and five counts of stalking/intimidation.
According to police facts, on the evening of September 29, 2018, Kollas's victim went to a licenced premises to have dinner with friends and family. At the time, Kollas was working in the kitchen and asked to speak to the victim several times. Eventually the victim agreed, going with a friend.
Feeling uneasy during the conversation, both the victim and the friend left. Kollas then followed them, yelling abuse. Fearful of Kollas, the victim knocked on the door of another licenced premises asking if they could stay until it was safe to leave.
Around 2am, September 30, the victim left with a group and returned home. Around 5.30am, one of the group stepped outside the victim's home. As they did, Kollas walked past them into the victim's lounge room.
He began yelling at the victim about having access to his key cards and spending his money. The victim denied this, giving the cards back and asking Kollas to leave. Kollas then punched one of the group above their left eye and continue swinging. The victim then tried to intervene and was punched in the jaw.
Kollas was then wrestled to the ground by the group and held there until police arrived, while being held on the ground Kollas told the group, "I'm going to kill you all" and that they would all be dead by 7.30. As police arrested Kollas, he yelled "I'm going to strangle these [persons]. You will see who Dom is going to murder".
At the time Kollas was well affected by liquor. Kollas's solicitor Clive Hill told the court his client's action were poor choices made during the breakdown of a relationship.
"He regrets throwing the punch, as it was he was outnumbered and ended up in hospital himself with broken ribs, bruises and stitches. So he's learnt his lesson about street brawls."
Magistrate Michael O'Brien said it appeared alcohol and drugs were an issue for Kollas, with his criminal history having numerous offences relating to their use.
"It is often difficult to reconcile when a relationship has broken down, but this behaviour was disproportionate to that," he said.
"It doesn't take courage to enter a room and behave like you did, fueled by alcohol and drugs."
