Cowra Gun Club held the monthly competition last Saturday, May 4. The program this month included the Dick Toshack Memorial Champion of Champions, the Mick Sinclair Memorial Handicap and the NSW State Night Double Barrel Championship. The weather on Saturday was quite blustery at times but this didn't deter the visitors from a great afternoon and night of clay target shooting.
The winner of the Dick Toshack Memorial Champion of Champions was Tony Barton from Bowning with a score of 121/125. Local shooters Pat Dun, Stuart Tydd, Col O'Leary and Sam Dun also featured in the winner's circle for this event.
The Mick Sinclair Memorial Handicap was won outright by Mitchell Dunn from Orange shooting 47/50 with local Col O'Leary taking out third place.
The NSW State Night Double Barrel Championship was won by Wagga's Ben Woodhouse with the only possible 50/50. Local shooters John Finn and Paul Deland took out their respective grades in this prestigious event.
The High Gun for the day/night, which is the highest cumulative total after all events are completed, was Tony Barton with a very impressive score of 238/250. Tony is a regular visitor to Cowra and this was a well deserved win.
Next month, June 1, sees the Club hosting the Central Zone Double Rise and Deauville Doubles Championships .
