The day got off of a good note early with the Danny Parsons' trained Tale of the Kraut winning the third race of the day - the 1400m Maiden Handicap - beating out Malcolm Johnston's Golden Creek.
From there, local insurer and horse owner Danny Gregory had another win, with his Turcotte, a five year-old Chestnut Gelding trained by Cameron Crockett and ridden on the day by Jake Pracey-Holmes, taking out the Soldier's Saddle 1400m Class 4 Handicap.
Michael Lynch and jockey Matthew Cahill followed up in the last race of the day, winning with Gazimber, a horse that surprised many punters given it sat well outside market favouritism. It took out the 1200m Class 1 Handicap.
With all this Cowra-driven success, it was also fitting that Tommy Jeffs capped the day off for the town by winning best dressed during the racing festivities.
