He gave an interesting talk about his life.
Our Guest speaker was Matt Felvus who is the manager of TAFE Services for Cowra as well as Bathurst, Grenfell, Lithgow and Mudgee.
He is hoping to build relationships with the community to drive course areas that interest local needs. Matt brought along Sylvia White who is the campus manager of TAFE Cowra.
Matt gave a brief outline of his working life since he left school at 18 and how he got involved with teaching numeracy and literacy and getting a degree while working full time.
Matt advised us that TAFE is undergoing a modernisation project. TAFE now operates as one Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Cowra TAFE has a strong relationship with local schools offering Vocational Subjects to be delivered during year 10-12 studies. A Connected Learning Centre (CLC) has just been constructed in Grenfell.
This is a significant investment from NSW state government which increases course scope in this community. CLC's utilise modern technology to allow students to participate in courses that have not been offered in this community for some time.
Probus members had a trip to Seniors Moments at Orange on March 26 with 70 people attending. We had lunch at the Orange Bowling Club before attending the show, a very enjoyable time was had by all.

Those going on it have to be down at the bus stop in Macquarie Street near the taxi rank at 8am on Sunday, April 28.
