Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said this week the Baby Bundles have helped 132 new bubs and their parents in the Cootamundra electorate.
The Baby Bundle, which is worth $300 and contains essential items and information, has been distributed to more than 20,000 recipients across NSW since the scheme rolled out on January 1.
"Welcoming a new little face into the world is such a beautiful moment, but it also makes life much more hectic than before - we hope that the Baby Bundle helps reduce the stress and lets parents enjoy their special moment," Ms Cooke said.
"The Baby Bundle has got so many items in it which help get everybody off to a good start: a sleeping bag, change mat, toothbrush, wipes, thermometers for bath and room, and barrier cream, among others.
"These aren't frivolous freebies, these are genuinely useful items which new parents won't need to worry about purchasing."
The 132 Baby Bundles have been handed out at the following locations in the Cootamundra electorate.
- Cootamundra Hospital 24
- Cowra District Hospital 48
- Narrandera District Hospital 6
- Temora and District Hospital 30
- Young District Hospital 24
Parents receive the Baby Bundle before being discharged from hospital, or after registering their child with NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages in instances where the birth does not occur in a hospital.
