Taking place over the June long weekend, one of the peak events for work horses in NSW will return after more than a decade away, and will be administered by Australian Drought Horse Stud Book Society's (ADHSBS) Western Chapter.
A showcase for the talents of workhorses and their drivers across the Central West, the event provides an opportunity for practitioner to show off their skills and directions in a competitive format with the straightness of the ploughed lines is key to success.
Cowra local Jason Gavenlock will be among those who are competing in the event, which for many of its participants is an all-consuming discipline requiring plenty of hours practicing in the sun, which can be difficult to navigate, particularly when the soil is dried out.
More details will be released soon by the ADHSBS, which is set to include other disciplines this year in addition to ploughing.
