Ian William McKeown of Bahloo Street was before the court charged with common assault.
According to police facts around 11pm on February 14, McKeown went to the residence of a relative where his victim was staying after attempting to call the victim throughout the day and receiving no response.
When McKeown arrived he entered the premises and began abusing a number of persons present before being told to leave.
He left but returned a short time later again abusing a number of persons present at the location.
He was again asked to leave but refused and was confronted by his victim. McKeown then struck his victim in the face causing the victim's nose to start bleeding.
McKeown was then pushed outside and told police had been called.
Around 12.30am on February 15, police attended Bahloo Street and spoke to McKeown. He denied going to the residence and assaulting the victim.
He was then cautioned and taken to Cowra Police Station.
While there he admitted to going to the residence but again denied assaulting the victim.
McKeown's solicitor Clive Hill, told the court his client didn't recall the night as he had been drinking. He also told the court his client regretted his actions.
"On the night, he lost perspective and control," Mr Hill said of his client.
"The incident arose out of petty jealousy, it was a one off and won't happen again."
In sentencing McKeown, Magistrate Michael O'Brien, said he credited McKeown with pleading guilty and taking accountability of his behaviour.
"You would have to be living under a rock not to know of the community's abhorrence of domesic violence," he said.
"Your history does not commend itself though this is the first time you have been before the court for a matter relating to (this victim)."
