Test of strength: The tug of war competitions always offer some highlights, and bragging rights, at the Koorawatha Show. Photos: Lizz Dobson.
Koorawatha is gearing up for the annual show with the committee putting in some long hours to ensure the day goes off without a hitch. A traditional agricultural show in every sense, it promises plenty of attractions, competitions and entertainment for people of all ages.

Simply stunning: Amanda Walker displays her beautiful artworks.
Show Secretary, Mary Gee, said that it was great to see people starting to get the entries in for the wide range of competitions but there was always room for more with everyone a chance at claiming a prize. "The stock categories are good considering the drought and we have a good mix of crafts, cooking and floral arrangements but we would love to see more people getting involved, especially the younger people".
Outside the pavilion there will be an excellent range of stallholders along with some great action to watch and join in including the mechanical bull, chainsaw racing and the ever popular tug of war competitions. The crowd will be entertained throughout the day with live music from Kenny Chalker and whip cracking displays by current Australian Champion Corey McCoy.

The show will be held on Sunday, March 3 with gates open for competitors and exhibitors from 7.30am and excited visitors from 9am. Tickets are just $10 for general admission and $5 for children and aged pensioners. For more information visit the Koorawatha Facebook page.
