Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, said the grant would go towards an extension of CINC’s community outdoor meeting place.
“It’s lovely to be here with you all for the NSW Seniors Festival, I have a cheque for CINC for just over $33,000 to do some work to the outdoor space,” she said.
“Last year we were outside and it was hot, so this funding should go a long way to fix that for the future.
“This is the most incredible centre, I travel far and wide, the electorate is 35 square kilometres and I do not have one other thing in the electorate that does what CINC does. So don’t ever take them for granted,” she said.
CINC’s manager Fran Stead said she was ecstatic about the funding announcement.
“The outdoor space is fantastic as it is now, but we realise that with the warm weather we can’t utilize it as much as we want,” she said.
“So extra shading over the area will be incredible especially with the way our events are attracting crowds.
“Being so hot at last year’s Seniors Festival, today was a perfect day to be presented with the cheque because the people in the room knew the benefit we’d get from it.”
