Instead, Mrs Russell will be shaving all of hair off in support of the Cancer Council's mission for a cancer free Australia.
Raising funds since July, Mrs Russell has made gradual progress on her goals, working to get the community and extended network in her campaign.
Two days out from Saturday's shave, she has exceeded her goals, raising $1653 from a target of $1500.
Missus Russell has raised money via a number of mechanisms including: Crocheting, raffles, morning teas at work, sending emails to people far and wide, as well as social media.
She said she had a lot of gratitude for the community's support.
"I’m very excited and thankful that people have sponsored the event," she said.
However, she did express some nervousness, with family coming from as far afield places such as Dubbo and Lithgow for Saturday's event.
"The closer I get… the more nervous I am… It’ll be interesting," she said.
“My big thing is that my grandchildren won’t know who I am."
Miss Russell made the decision to shave after deciding witnessing a close friend deal with what she described as a "tough diagnosis", making the decision to go on the fundraising journey in July last year.
"Basically… I felt I had to do something," she explained.
The shave will take place at 11.30 am, outside the front of the old Datavoice shopfront.
