The Group 10 and 11 runner-ups will take each other on in the NSW Challenge Cup at Sid Kallas Oval, with the clash sure to offer crucial insights into each side's plans for the coming regular seasons ahead, while Dubbo Cym's are also defending their Premiership of last year's Cup.
it will be new senior coach Kurt Hancock's first match in charge with the new coach flagging some changes to the system used by last year's coach, Steve Sutton - who after stepping down has continued to work as an assistant in the Magpies' coaching lineup.
Cowra have also made several additions to their line-up in the off-season with Parkes' Lewis Dwyer, Westside's Claude Gordon and Newcastle's Logan Harris all joining the side.
For Dubbo Cyms' part, John Ciappara and Jayden Merritt have both joined from Dubbo Macquarie, while Matt Burton, Nick Harvey and Bayden Searle have left for different pastures.
Saturday's match, which is part of a knock-out competition, offers potential winners a $15,000 prize, while runners-up will receive $7500, with cash prizes available for teams who progress beyond the first-round this week, while the tournament's Grand Final will be played in June.
The match kicks off at at 6 pm, with tickets $5.
