The Cowra Women’s Bowls Club has thrown their backing behind the Cowra Cancer Action Group, donating $500 of funds to the organisation, who are renowned for their work supporting patients in the Cowra area.

The cheque was presented to Peggy Chivers, coming from proceeds of the club’s 2018 Melbourne Cup Day. Peggy explained that the money would be used to help refurnish rooms at the Cowra Hospital for the visiting oncologist and hematologist.
Quarter Finals – Club Consistencies: Thursday. January 31
- D Presnell defeated S Bohanna
- B Bundy forfeited to E Brown
- D Clark forfeited to S Hubber.
Semi Finals: Tuesday, February 5
- S Hubber defeated E Brown
- D Presnell defeated D Dye.
The finals would have been played yesterday between D Presnell and S Hubber, with results to be printed next week.
Social Bowls – February 5
- C Howarth, K Oliver and S Muir narrowly won by one to J McAlister, J Kiernicki and D Day.
Upcoming Events
Hopefully the weather will improve so we can all get back to bowling. The Club Major Singles entries close February 21, with match play to commence on March 28.
The District Singles entries close February 22, with play commencing at Cowra on March 11.
Bowlers are reminded of our Half Yearly Meeting to be held at 1.30pm on Thursday, February 14.
