Thanks to the efforts of local volunteers, the event in Carcoar is one of the largest Australia Day celebrations in the Central West which is a huge achievement for the small community of about 200 residents.
In 2019 the festivities will kick off at 8.30am with a host of attractions throughout the day.
A highlight will be the bushranging re-enactments performed by the Gold Trails Re-enactment Group, featuring actors performing events that occurred in Carcoar and surrounds, and being made particularly realistic by the use of multiple riders on horseback.
The re-enactments will be held at 11.30am and 1.30pm.
Additionally there will be live music featuring November Shorn, Cobb and Co carriage rides, vintage cars, Penny Farthings, amusements and entertainment for the kids including the wonderful Murphy’s Puppets.
An added attraction for this year are the Royal Marine Corps actors who will be ensuring that law and order is maintained in the village.
In recognition of Carcoar's significance as the third oldest settlement west of the Blue Mountains, all five of Carcoar's museums will be open, including the Carcoar Hospital Museum (12pm to 2pm), Court House Museum, Carmanhurst Military Museum, Stoke Stable Museum and The 20th Century Toy Museum.
Event organisers are encouraging people to get involved by dressing up in period costume and there will be a parade to showcase the costumes.
The historic courthouse will host talks by guest speakers throughout the day including author and bushranger historian Craig Bratby (John Vane, Biography of a Bushranger).
Once again the Fair will have loads of activities, games and live entertainment.
All profits raised on the day will be returned to the community via Village improvement projects.
Make a day of it, bring the whole family and invite your friends!
Wander the streets and experience the ambiance of the historic buildings and peruse the market stalls.
Enjoy the wonderful variety of food on offer, find a spot by the river and relax in the dappled shade on the Belubula's edge.
It really is a day of fun for everyone.
