Now in it’s third year, the Cowra Scenic Tours and Motor Inn’s Parkes Elvis Festival package has seen hundreds of visitors stay, eat and play in Cowra.
Cowra Scenic Tours and Motor Inn owner Nicole Robinson said the 2019 festival has been the most successful one yet, starting off with nine takers in 2017.
“Then in 2018, after a full year of advertising, we got 43 and this year, we got 48 so we had one room spare last year and then 2019, we used some rooms up at the Breakout (Motor Inn),” she said.
Ms Robinson said she had no desire to take away from Parkes, rather offer Cowra as an alternative should there be no more accommodation available.
“I’m charging $1000 this year for four nights accommodation, four breakfasts, four dinners, four shows, trip out to the Dish, and it’s all about Parkes,” she said.
Along with trips to Parkes, her Elvis package offered the opportunity to see Andrew Lemvis Leonard performing as Elvis at the Cowra Bowling Club.
Ms Robinson said she plans to get other local businesses to get on board for next year's festival.
She also hopes to see even more people take advantage of Cowra’s hospitality and proximity.
”I’ve realised it’s bigger than just me, I can say yes it works, it’s on the right track, yes there’s room for improvement but now I want to get the rest of the town on board,” she said.
“I’m pretty confident next year we will do two buses.”
Cowra Scenic Tours and Motor Inn is offering a number of different tours and packages this year.
